For the past two weeks Skatergirl has been a happy camper. She was jumping well, and even started to get her triple Lutz in her program segments already!

This week is another story. She’s not sure why, but starting on Monday, she couldn’t land her Lutz, and everyday since, practice went downhill. Not just the Lutz, but everything else too. Getting Over Overthinking

Loop, There It Isn’t

You are working on your loop jump with your coach, but you are having trouble landing it. Your coach gives you the same correction that you’ve been working on for the past few weeks – you need to check your left side on the takeoff, don’t let the left side open up.

You know this is a problem, and you have been working on it, but it’s not easy to do this consistently. You really want to get this jump; you are so close.

What to do When You “Lose” a Jump

Skatergirl and the Lost Jump

Skatergirl is gearing up to jump her 2 Lutz. She likes it. It’s her best jump and she’s usually consistent.

But for a week and a half now, she can’t seem to land it at all. What is happening? This doesn’t usually happen, especially not for so many days consecutively. It’s like Wesley Snipes is in her head telling her she can’t jump.

She is frustrated and confused.
